Check-in for dinner with Fergus in the Brasserie
Wednesday / Thursday
Introducing Fergus and his extraordinary background of making award winning wildlife films. Various clips of film will be shown to highlight how a better connection with nature involves tuning all the senses into the present. Moving quietly is necessary, with the stealth of a ghost – or even better – stopping and melting into the leaves at the base of a tree to sit, wait and watch the world of nature come alive.
A morning of mindfulness with nature.
Fergus will guide the group along the banks of the river Bybrook .
Regular stops will be made along the path to view the abundance of wild flowers which are so beautiful at this time of year and rich in native flora, butterflies and insects.
Arriving in the picturesque village of Castle Combe you will be able to gain access to the freshwater creatures who have made the Bybrook their habitat over hundreds of years.
Returning to Lucknam Park via some of Wiltshire’s beautiful countryside, greater emphasis will be made on stopping, watching and listening. The secret of great nature watching is not to rush, but to attend all senses to the surroundings. In this way so much more will be seen.

Roe Deer and Muntjac Deer are frequently seen scampering secretly between the spring time trees.
1900 – 2100 Dinner in the Brasserie
2100-2200 Film screening

World. After the film, Fergus will offer a revealing insight in to how the film was made.
2200-2300 Night Walk
The after dinner ‘Bat Experience’ will commence. Equipped with torches and guided by Fergus, a slow walk along the drive with a ‘bat detector’ will reveal the clicks and squeaks of the numerous species of bats at Lucknam Park. The incredible haunting calls of night time birds will make this a night to remember
An early start this morning at 6.00am to catch the full orchestra of the dawn chorus, the surroundings amplify the magnificent sounds into a theatrical masterpiece leaving the listener entranced. Fergus will guide the audience through the range of birds that are vocalising.
